Judy Deighton
Judy started working with clay in 1980 when living in Taihape and later studied with George Kojis in Whanganui. In the mid eighties she purchased an abandoned early settlers church in Mangaweka and converted it to “The Lodge” gallery which specialised in original handcrafted ceramics. Judy's work is held in New Zealand and international collections. A hand built sculptural work was selected for the Fletcher Brownbuilt Award Exhibition and other pieces have featured in numerous gallery shows and exhibitions. Her latest venture, "Studio 26", is all about individuality. Each piece is unique, a combination of contemporary design and traditional skills, blending old and new in expressive hand built forms with stunning glazes.
John Deighton
John Deighton uses old fence posts, tree stumps and reclaimed timber for his wood turning and carved work. Individual pieces can be viewed at Studio 26.
